A significant driver of me writing these DBS posts was the relative lack of details I found when trying to understand the process to make my decision whether to have DBS surgery or not.
I asked my MDS and surgeon if they could take pictures and video key portions of my surgery to share in this blog. I have included most of them here:
I took care to not show pictures I deemed graphic in that post. In the interest of full disclosure, I decided to include those I excluded in that post. My thought was that there are some people who will appreciate these photos and those who don't wish to see graphic surgery pictures can choose to read the original, updated blog.

Here, you can see the full implant device, ready to go. (Incision site is open). The full implant device was not pictured in the main post.
Below is another view, with the incision site in full view.
Below is a view of the electrode after placement and with the addition of the "cap" placed on the end of the lead.
Hopefully, folks will find this useful in their education and decision process.
God Bless you for “telling it like it is!.” Congratulations to you and Dee Dee for meeting these momentous adventures with grit, grace and wit. please share another chapter of good progress after more fine tuning. Thank you. Becky B.
