What is "Challenging Parkinson's"?

Updated: Feb 12, 2023

I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD) in 2013, age 46. Generally speaking, diagnosis prior to age 50 is considered Young Onset PD. Getting this diagnosis was devastating and took nearly two years for me to fully accept.

Sitting back and letting PD take control of my body was never something I was going to be able to do. I try to stay active and continually challenge myself and my friends with PD to do everything in our power to slow PD’s control over us. Forced movement exercise has been proven many times to be the best thing to help.

This site will highlight my and my friends journey to Challenge Parkinson’s any way we can! You can also follow additional stories on the Challenging Parkinson's Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Challenging-Parkinsons-111752150304962
